Our ReLeaf deep root tree fertilization program usually consists of two applications per year, one in the spring and one in the late summer/early fall. We use a custom made, water soluble fertilizer with micronutrients. This special blend is formulated specifically for our climate and conditions and is made locally in Calgary. This non-burning, low nitrogen fertilizer promotes strong, vigorous and even growth. This fertilizer is designed to battle against the high PH found in Calgary’s soils to ensure trees are able to take up and absorb the nutrients they need. This water based solution is injected below the soil surface to the tree’s roots in a form that eliminates the chance of root burn and encourages uniform uptake in the tree. It also bypasses shallow rooted grass and perennial root systems that take up much of surface applied fertilizers. This fertilizer blend is also lower in Nitrogen which is optimal for our short growing season and does not promote laggy growth. We highly recommend this service now more than ever due to recent lack of precipitation and extreme summer heat. There is also the added benefit of having a trained arborist inspecting all your trees while fertilizing so we can alert you of any possible issues (pest, disease, structure, safety and other required maintenance) that we can help solve.
